My True Bible Companion

Your data

Delete your account and data

You can delete your My True Bible Companion account at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. There are two routes: from inside the app, or by sending us a request from this page.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and only they can stop them. If you delete your account without cancelling, your store account may continue to be charged.

iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → My True Bible Companion → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → My True Bible Companion → Cancel subscription.

Full steps are on the Support page.

Route 1 — delete from inside the app

This is the quickest way, and it is available on both iPhone and Android.

  1. Open the My True Bible Companion app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings (or Account).
  3. Choose Delete Account.
  4. Confirm when asked. The deletion is then processed.

Route 2 — request deletion from this page

If you no longer have the app installed, cannot sign in, or would simply rather ask us, send a deletion request by email. This route exists so that deletion is available on the web as well as in the app, as Google Play requires.

How to send the request

Email johnd@mybiblecompanion.app with the subject line “Account deletion request” and include:

  • The email address registered to the account.
  • The phone number registered to the account.
  • A sentence confirming that you want the account and its data deleted.

Please send the request from the email address on the account where you can — it is the fastest way for us to confirm it is really you. If you cannot, we will verify your identity another way before we delete anything, using the phone number on the account. We will never ask you for a password or a payment card number.

You may also call +1 870-707-1119 or write to Global Technology Service Providers LLC, 209 Rightor St, Helena, AR 72342-3330, United States.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

Once deletion is complete, the account cannot be recovered and neither can anything attached to it. If you come back later, you will start a new account.

There are no recordings to delete

We never record your calls. No audio and no transcript of a conversation with Jeremiah is created or stored, so there is nothing of that kind to delete — neither now nor at any point while you were using the app. What the voice platform keeps is basic call metadata — session timing, duration and minutes used — and that is deleted with your account.

Analytics records

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which collects app usage and device and diagnostic data against a Google-generated identifier for your app installation. When you ask us to delete your account we also submit a deletion request for the analytics records tied to that installation, and deleting the app from your device stops any further collection. Figures that have already been aggregated into non-identifying totals — for example how many sessions ran in a month — cannot be traced back to you and remain.

See section 3 of the Privacy Policy for what analytics collects.

What we keep, and why

Data retained after account deletion
What is keptWhyFor how long
Transaction and purchase records (amount, date, plan, store) We are legally required to keep financial records for tax, accounting and audit purposes. These are held in our accounting records, unlinked from your profile wherever possible. The period required by United States tax and accounting law.
A record that your phone number has already used the free First Light trial The free 5 minutes are offered once per verified phone number. If this record were deleted with the account, the same number could claim the trial again and again, and we would have to withdraw the free trial for everyone. It is kept in the most minimal form that still works, and it is not used for any other purpose. For as long as the free trial is offered.
Records held by Apple or Google Your purchase history sits in your Apple ID or Google Play account. It is theirs, not ours, and we cannot delete it. Contact Apple or Google about it. Governed by Apple's and Google's own policies.
Aggregated, non-identifying counts (for example total minutes served in a month) Operating the service. These figures cannot be linked back to you or any individual. Indefinitely, in non-identifying form.
Records needed for a legal claim, fraud investigation or legal hold Only where the law requires it or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Only for as long as that need lasts.

How long it takes

Deleting some data but keeping your account

If you want to correct your email address or phone number rather than delete everything, you can change them in the app or ask us at johnd@mybiblecompanion.app. You can also withdraw microphone permission at any time in your device settings — voice sessions will not work without it, but your account will remain.

Your wider rights

Deletion is one of several rights you have over your information. Residents of California have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, and users in the European Union, EEA and United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, portability, restriction and objection. All of them are set out in our Privacy Policy, and all of them are exercised through the same address: johnd@mybiblecompanion.app.

We will not charge you for a deletion request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
