Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Global Technology Service Providers LLC (“GTSP”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the My True Bible Companion mobile application and this website, why we collect it, who else processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have over it.
The short version
- We do not record your calls. No audio recordings, and no stored transcripts of your conversations with Jeremiah. The voice platform is configured to keep basic call metadata only — when a session ran, how long it lasted, and the minutes it used for billing.
- The app does use analytics. Google Analytics for Firebase is enabled and collects app usage together with device and diagnostic data. We would rather tell you plainly than let you find out from a store listing.
- Apart from that, we collect only what is needed to sign you in, verify your phone number, bill you through the app stores, and count the minutes you have used.
- Your phone number is used to sign you in and to make sure the free First Light trial is given once per person.
- We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your conversations to train AI models.
- Your phone number is not disclosed to the voice service, and no personal number of ours is disclosed to you.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect, and why
We collect the following categories of personal information, and nothing else. If we ever need to collect something new, we will update this policy first.
| What | Why we need it | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To create your account, sign you in, verify it is you, and send service messages about your account or subscription. | You give it to us at sign-up. |
| Phone number (verified) | Three things: to authenticate you at sign-in, to set up your voice session, and to enforce our one free trial per person rule — we keep a record that a given number has already claimed the free First Light minutes so that it cannot claim them twice. It is not used for marketing and is never sold. | You give it to us at sign-up, and we verify it. |
| Purchase and subscription history and status | To know which plan you hold, whether it is active, and to restore purchases across your devices. We receive the receipt and status, not your payment card. | Apple and Google, from your in-app purchase. |
| Minutes consumed and basic call metadata (usage metering) | To count the length of each voice session against your free trial or monthly allowance, tell you your remaining balance, and stop sessions when the balance reaches zero. The metadata kept is limited to when a session started and ended, how long it ran, and the minutes it used — never what was said. | Generated automatically when you use the app. |
| Microphone audio during a voice session | To carry the conversation. Audio is processed live, in the moment, purely to produce Jeremiah's spoken reply. It is not recorded and not stored. | Your device's microphone, with your permission, only while a session is running. |
| App usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) | To understand how the app is actually used and whether it is working — for example how often the app is opened, which screens are reached, whether a voice session started or failed, and whether a purchase completed. We use it to find and fix problems and to decide what to improve. We do not use it for advertising and we do not build advertising profiles. | Collected automatically in the app by the Google Analytics for Firebase SDK. |
| Device and diagnostic data | To keep the service running, secure it against abuse and diagnose faults — for example the app version, device model, operating system version, language, an approximate region derived from your IP address, connection information, error conditions, and a Google-generated app instance identifier that distinguishes your installation of the app from someone else's. | Generated automatically by the app, by the analytics SDK and by our servers. |
We do not ask for and do not want your date of birth, your address, your payment card details, your contacts, your photos, your precise location, or any health information.
3. Recordings, call metadata and analytics
Your calls are not recorded
This is a deliberate design decision, not a default we happened to inherit. When you speak with Jeremiah:
- Your speech is processed live, only for as long as it takes to understand what you said and speak a reply.
- No audio recording is created and none is stored by us.
- No transcript of your conversation is stored by us.
- The voice platform is configured to store basic call metadata only: when the session started and ended, how long it ran, and the minutes it consumed for billing. That is what your trial or subscription meters.
- Your phone number is not exposed to the voice service or to any other user, and no personal number of ours is exposed to you.
Because no audio or transcript is kept, there is no conversation history for us to search, hand over, analyse, sell, or lose in a breach. It is also why we cannot retrieve something Jeremiah said to you last week — we genuinely do not have it. What we can see is that a session happened and how long it lasted.
Analytics: what we do collect
Not recording your conversations is not the same as collecting nothing, and we would rather say so here than leave you to discover it on a store listing. The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, and it is enabled in the shipped build. It collects app usage data — app opens, screens viewed, whether a voice session started or failed, whether a purchase completed — together with device and diagnostic data such as the app version, device model, operating system version, language, an approximate region derived from your IP address, and a Google-generated app instance identifier for your installation.
This is separate from the content of your conversations, which is never recorded, never transcribed and never sent to any analytics system. Analytics tells us that a session started and how the app behaved. It does not tell us, and cannot tell us, what you or Jeremiah said.
We use analytics to keep the app working and to decide what to improve. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell what it collects.
To be straight about your options: there is currently no switch inside the app to turn analytics off. You can limit the advertising identifier your device shares through your device settings (on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, through the ads controls in your Google account), and uninstalling the app stops collection altogether. If you would like the analytics records associated with your installation deleted, ask us at johnd@mybiblecompanion.app and we will request their deletion.
4. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To provide voice sessions with Jeremiah.
- To meter minutes, apply your free trial or plan allowance, and process upgrades or additional minutes.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
- To understand how the app is used and how it performs, through Google Analytics for Firebase, so that we can fix faults and improve it.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents — including checking a verified phone number against our record of trials already granted, so that the free First Light minutes are claimed once per person.
- To comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not use your information to serve advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use your conversations to train artificial-intelligence models — a claim we can make without qualification, because your conversations are not retained in any form.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Account creation, authentication, delivering voice sessions, metering minutes, managing your subscription | Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — our Terms of Use with you |
| Microphone access during a session | Consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given through your device's microphone permission prompt, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings; and performance of a contract for the session you asked for |
| Security, fraud prevention, service reliability and diagnostics, including preventing more than one free trial per phone number | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — keeping the service working and protecting it from abuse |
| App usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — understanding how the app performs and improving it. Where local law requires consent for storing or reading information on your device for analytics, we rely on that consent instead and you may withdraw it at any time |
| Keeping transaction and tax records | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) |
6. Who else processes your information
We use a small number of service providers. Each acts on our instructions, under contract, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
| Provider | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Inc. | Distributes the iOS app and processes subscription payments through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple is the merchant of record for purchases made on iOS. | Your payment details (which we never see) and your purchase and subscription status, which Apple reports back to us. |
| Google LLC (Google Play) | Distributes the Android app and processes subscription payments through Google Play Billing. Google is the merchant of record for purchases made on Android. | Your payment details (which we never see) and your purchase and subscription status, which Google reports back to us. |
| Google Cloud / Firebase (Google LLC) | Hosts our application backend and provides user authentication and database services — your account record, plan status, free-trial status and minute balance live here. | Your email address, phone number, subscription status, free-trial status and minutes consumed. |
| Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) | Provides the app usage analytics described in section 3 — it tells us how the app is used and how it performs. | App usage events, device and diagnostic data, an approximate region derived from your IP address, and a Google-generated app instance identifier. No conversation audio or transcript, because none exists. |
| Retell AI | Operates the real-time voice layer that carries your conversation with Jeremiah — converting speech to text, generating the reply and speaking it back, live, during the session. | Session audio, processed in real time to run the conversation. Not recorded and not transcribed for retention — the account is configured to store basic call metadata only (timing, duration and minutes used). |
We may also disclose personal information where we are legally required to — for example in response to a valid subpoena, court order or lawful government request — or where it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of any person. If our business is ever sold or transferred, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and this policy will continue to apply until you are told otherwise.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers process personal information in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there. Where the GDPR applies, such transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism operated by the provider concerned.
8. How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Conversation audio and transcripts | Not retained at all. Nothing is recorded or transcribed, so there is nothing to delete. |
| Basic call metadata (session start and end, duration, minutes used) | For the current and preceding billing periods so we can answer billing questions, then deleted; and deleted with your account. |
| Account details (email, phone number) | For as long as your account is open, and then deleted when you delete your account. |
| Minutes consumed | For the current and preceding billing periods, so we can answer billing questions; deleted with your account. |
| Record that a phone number has claimed the free First Light trial | Kept after account deletion, in minimised form, for as long as the free trial is offered. Without it the one-trial-per-person limit could not be enforced. |
| App usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) | For the retention window configured on our Google Analytics property, after which Google deletes the user-level records; aggregated reporting figures may be kept longer in non-identifying form. |
| Purchase and transaction records | Retained after account deletion where we are required to keep them for tax, accounting and audit purposes, in a form that is no longer linked to your profile wherever possible. |
| Device and diagnostic data | A short operational period, then discarded. |
See Delete your account for how to remove your data.
9. How we protect it
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our cloud provider under access controls that limit who can reach it. No system is perfectly secure, but the most sensitive thing you could give us — the content of your conversations — is never stored in the first place, which removes that risk entirely. What we do hold is small: an account record, a minute balance, call metadata and analytics about how the app behaves.
10. Children
My True Bible Companion is intended for adults. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to our Terms of Use.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as those terms are used in the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes we hold information about a child under 13 should contact johnd@mybiblecompanion.app and we will act on it.
11. Your rights over your information
Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your account and the personal information attached to it — see Delete your account. On request we will also ask Google to delete the analytics records associated with your app installation.
Write to johnd@mybiblecompanion.app and we will verify your identity by the email address or phone number on your account before we act. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
In the past twelve months we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 2 above — identifiers (email address, phone number, and a Google-generated app instance identifier), commercial information (purchase and subscription history), internet or other electronic network activity information (usage metering, call metadata, app usage analytics, and device and diagnostic data), coarse location inferred from IP address, and audio information processed live during a session but not recorded or retained. It is collected for the business purposes set out in section 4, from the sources set out in section 2, and disclosed only to the service providers named in section 6.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months, including for consumers we know to be under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose other than those permitted without a right to limit. Google Analytics for Firebase is used by us as a service provider, for our own analytics, with advertising features off.
As a California resident you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used and disclosed, and the categories of recipients.
- Request a copy of your personal information (data portability).
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to the exceptions the law allows (for example records we must keep for tax purposes).
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — there is nothing to opt out of, because we do neither.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — again, we do not use it beyond providing the service you asked for.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Make a request by emailing johnd@mybiblecompanion.app or calling +1 870-707-1119. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission that we can verify. We respond within 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days where the law permits, and we will tell you if we need the extra time.
Users in the European Union, the EEA and the United Kingdom
Because the app is distributed in the European Union, EU and EEA users (and users in the United Kingdom) additionally have the right to:
- Restrict processing, or object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- Receive your personal information in a portable, machine-readable format, and have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Withdraw consent at any time — for example by turning off microphone permission in your device settings — without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it.
- Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority, or with the UK Information Commissioner's Office. We would ask that you contact us first so we can put things right.
We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. We respond to rights requests within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests, and we will tell you if that applies.
12. This website
This website is not the app, and it is treated differently. These pages are plain static HTML. The website sets no cookies, runs no JavaScript, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party trackers or fonts, and carries no advertising — the analytics described in section 3 are in the mobile app only, not here. There is no checkout and no payment form on this site; subscriptions are purchased only inside the app, through Apple or Google. Our hosting provider may keep standard server access logs for security and operational purposes.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top and post the new version at this address. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
